Jay Z is blessing his hometown by bringing his “Made In America” music festival to New York City for the first time this year with free admission. Founded by Hov and Steve Stoute in 2011, “Made In America” occurs every summer in Philadelphia and expanded to Los Angeles for the first time in 2014. Last summer, MIA housed simultaneous performances from chart-topping artists like Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, YG, and J. Cole. After experiencing several complications hosting the event at L.A.’s Grand Park, the festival’s organizers have decided not to return to California this year. “This is not at all a stepping back — this is a reevaluation of the model of going from one location to two to three,” Budweiser VP of marketing Brian Perkins said according to the L.A. Times. “We’re a very ambitious brand, and we have a very ambitious partner in Jay Z, who also dreams big.
